Remember the saying that you would say as kids when someone calls you a name, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.” Yet we realize later in life what people say to us really does hurt and sometimes it can be deadly.
This is a picture of my mom’s, Sue London, cactus earlier this year. The sweetness of the flowers draws the bees to it. Yet when the bees get done with it and head back to the hive, they make it into honey. Honey is not just sweet but there are a lot of medicinal uses for honey. The other day I saw how good raw honey was for your dog if they have allergies.
In Proverbs 16:24 we see; words for effect our body.
Gracious words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body.
When we season our words with grace they are like the honeycomb stored with sweetness and health for both soul and body.
You know how it being around people that build you up makes you enjoy life and you just want to soak up the sunshine that is around them. That is what this verse is about. It is the key to dealing all types of people by touching their life with grace no matter what they are like.
