It may look like a fancy “T” but it makes the sound of a “Z”. It is the light from God to man. The word Zayin means sword, yet the root of the word (zan) means food. Jesus is the Light of God that came to this world. He is the Bread of Life and the Word of God is our sword.
Heth is the letter of life and being the eighth letter it is the number for grace and wisdom. It looks like a doorway and a lamb. It is the doorway that the lamb’s blood was painted on for the Passover. The Lamb’s blood gives life when applied to the doorway of the heart. It also looks like a yoke. Jesus said, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29.
The Teth shows the age old battle that man faces between good and evil. The evil view is a crowned snake ready to strike, like a cobra. The good view is the Crowned Man with the Sword of the Spirit and man bowing down in submission to Him. The Teth shows the life decisions that we have to make. Will we bow in submission to Jesus or follow after our own will and pleasure, in the rebellion the serpent started in the Garden in Genesis 3?
