One thing about prophecy you don’t know the exact time it will be fulfilled. About 150 years before Cyrus was born Isaiah prophesied about him by name. Isaiah died before this prophecy was fulfilled, along with many of his other prophecies.
There are two major prophecies in Jeremiah 23:3-8, verses 5 and 6, inturrupt the first prophecy which is about the Jews returning to Israel after being scattered all over the Earth. This prophecy was fulfill on May 18, 1948, when Israel became a nation after World War II. From twenty-seven different countries the Jews have returned to Israel. What was once a waste land has become one of the world’s top exporting nations of fruits and vegetables.
The other prophecy has not been fulfilled yet. In vearses 5 and 6, we see,
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord,
“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called:
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
This is a prophecy about the Messiah. We know that because the titlt, “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNES” in Hebrew is Yĕhovah tsidqenuw, it is a symbolic title for the Messiah. Sure, Jesus is the Messiah, there are two ways the Messiah is said to come. This version is the regiening King, the one, the Jews were looking for. They were not looking for the suffering servant that Isaiah spoke about in chapther 53. In Mark 10:45, Jesus, Himself, makes a reference to being the suffering servant being Him,
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, andto give His life a ransom for many.
Jesus is still the coming King, the time is sooner than it was 2000 years ago.
